What to Expect

In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility.

Your visit begins with checking in at the front reception desk, with our customer care representatives. They will confirm all of your home and pet information, and will have you start filling out a history form for your pet. You will be called in shortly by one of our friendly technicians, who will go over your pet's history and start taking basic physical readings on your pet. Your veterinarian will then come in and take a more detailed history of any problems that your pet may be experiencing. Your doctor will perform a thorough physical exam of all of your pet's body systems, from the ears all the way to the tail. We will discuss all of our findings with you as we go along, so that you will have plenty of time to ask questions.

It's a good idea to keep an accurate medical diary not only of the procedures and vaccinations your pet receives at the vet, but also of notes on things like your pet's elimination habits and any physical changes or unusual occurrences. Keep track of small shifts in your pet's behavior, including urinary marking habits and mood swings, along with diet and routine modifications. Take this notebook when you visit the vet. These seemingly unrelated occurrences may help explain results of your pet's medical tests. Also, if you need to change vets, it's good to have this journal to provide a complete medical history.

Payment Options

  1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill.
  2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) cheques and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
  3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well. Meyerland Animal Clinic understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through the CareCredit (Dencharge) program. It takes just 5 minutes to complete an application and will allow you to break down your payment into 3 monthly installments. You can either apply at our hospital, where we'll call in your application over the phone for immediate approval, or apply yourself online at: www.CareCredit.com.

Absolutely wonderful vets

We have used Meyerland Animal clinic for so many years. My pets have seen many of their vets and every one has been attentive, professional and caring. They always take time to explain what is happening and draw pictures for assistance. We recently had our precious dachshund at the vet for a very serious illness and she was close to death. Dr. Inman, Dr. Werner and Dr. Vining all spent some time with us at different moments. They each gave tender assessments of bad news with full explanations. The present end of the story is that our sweet Emma turned the corner and celebrated her 15 birthday with us.

There are many vets that are closer to where we live, but the care and concern and relationship we have with Meyerland is well worth the drive. We also want to mention that when there was a costly test or procedure that was possible, they included us in the decision without forcing expensive items to our surprise. They offered written estimates of total cost of treatment. When Emma had to be hospitalized they encouraged us to visit her any time we liked. We did and it was good to spend that time with her especially thinking she was not going to survive. The entire staff was welcoming and spoke of her and what happened throughout the day, also encouraging us.

Over the past 35 years there have been nothing but good experiences for me. I highly recommend them and know you will feel the warmth we always have.
